About Sonu

As a young girl straight out of college, Sonu aspired to work in the beauty industry but life had other plans for her. She followed a career in banking and time and again wished to take formal training in the beauty industry but other responsibilities took priority.

In 2013, fate gave her a chance to follow her passion and she signed up with Cameron Jane Makeup Academy in Sydney. Sonu completed her bridal makeup and hair training with CJM and in October 2013, launched SONU SODHI HAIR AND MAKEUP DESIGN .

Over the years, she has followed and been inspired by successful makeup artists around the world. Her style is influenced by Tamanna Roashan from “DressYourFace” , Harp Sohal and Shannon Mann from “Pink Orchid Studio” in Surrey, Canada.

Sonu has taken online classes with DYF as she loves creating glamorous looks from cut crease to 3D smokey eyes. She has worked on clients from different backgrounds and has not limited herself to working with one ethnicity. Her Facebook page and Instagram demonstrate this.

She takes pride in seeing her brand grow over the years and has not ceased to learn and gain further knowledge from some well known names in her Industry. Sonu attended a Bridal Bootcamp in 2016 with Melissa Sassine from the MS Academy in Sydney. Sonu took one on one classes with Harp and Shannon from the Pink Orchid Studio in 2017. Classic up do’s and mature makeup is Sonu’s forte. Sonu’s flair is in creating different looks for the bride for each of her wedding events and she works with her brides during makeup trial’s to create a personalised bridal package for them.
